Grab a candle and follow the music from porch to porch. The Port Dalhousie Candlelight Stroll starts at St. John's Church on Saturday, December 5th, with candle sales from 5:30 p.m. and the first steps at 6:15 p.m.
Musicians on front porches, a candle in your hand and Lake Ontario just down the street.
The Port Dalhousie Candlelight Stroll is back on Saturday, December 5th, 2026: an evening of musical porchside entertainment in Port Dalhousie. The Port Dalhousie Beautification and Works Committee puts it on every year. It's the same group of volunteers behind Port Dalhousie's planters, its spring clean-up and its Halloween walk.
How it works
5:30 p.m.: candle sales open at St. John's Church, 80 Main Street.
6:15 p.m.: the Port Dalhousie Candlelight Stroll sets off, with music on porches along the way.
In the know
Candles are $4 each and hot chocolate is $1, and it's cash only, so bring small bills. The Port Dalhousie Candlelight Stroll goes ahead whatever the sky brings (rain, snow or stars, as the Port Dalhousie Beautification and Works Committee puts it), so dress for the weather.
Park at Lakeside Park, or take bus routes 401 or 406.
Thanks to the 2026 sponsors, the City of St. Catharines and Royal Henley Retirement Apartments by Signature.
Floats, marching bands and costumed characters roll from Victoria Avenue to City Hall at 4 p.m. on Saturday, November 14th, followed by a Christmas tree lighting and a visit with Santa and Mrs. Claus in Centennial Square.
Kids and teens read stories to gentle therapy dogs while giant board games fill the lounge. Therapy Tails & Giant Board Games is a drop-in evening at the Grimsby Public Library on four Tuesdays from November 10th to December 22nd.
A community ofrenda, live Mexican music, a costume contest, art and tamales at St. Catharines Market Square. The 6th annual Niagara Day of the Dead & Art Festival runs from noon to 6 p.m. on Sunday, November 8th.
