One mayor's race in Niagara came down to 15 votes.

Voters in all 12 of Niagara's municipalities chose their mayors on Monday, October 26th, 2026. By the next evening, seven towns and cities had published official results, and the other five had their unofficial counts posted while their clerks finish the checks.

Three close races

Pelham's was the closest. Junkin finished 15 votes ahead of Frank Adamson, 3,216 to 3,201, in the Town of Pelham's certified count.

In Lincoln, Russell led Greg Reimer by 33 votes, 3,756 to 3,723, in the unofficial count.

And in Welland, Chiocchio finished 55 votes ahead of Graham Speck, 4,271 to 4,216, in the City of Welland's certified results.

A smaller Niagara Regional Council

From Sunday, November 15th, 2026, these 12 mayors are also Niagara Regional Council. Ontario's Better Regional Governance Act, 2026 ended the separately elected regional councillor seats, so the new Niagara Regional Council is the 12 mayors and a Regional Chair. The province can appoint the Regional Chair; if it doesn't, the council chooses one at its first meeting.
